A Young Male Drinks Excessively, Gets Inspired to Get Treatment for Alcohol Addiction and Depression, and Experiences Augmented Dating Relationships in His Life
Stanley began drinking heavily when he was in the seventh grade. From a positive perspective, even though he drank abusively and excessively when he was a teen and a young adult, over the years he has been mostly a moderate drinker.
After he completed his education he eventually landed a job at a local water treatment facility where he worked his way up from stock person, to office assistant, to purchasing assistant, to purchasing manager. Unlike his other positions, as the purchasing manager he often took existing vendors and potential vendors to lunch and to various sporting events.
Alhough it was not written in concrete, meeting with potential vendors and existing vendors often involved situations in which alcohol was present. In actual fact, over the past sixteen months, Stanley had begun to significantly increase his social and his work-related drinking. This has led to quite a predicament. Namely, the more successful he became as a purchasing agent, the more he began to drink.
His Increasing Bouts of Depression Also Made Him Question if He Was Becoming an Alcohol Dependent Person
In actual fact, it didn’t take long at all before Stanley’s hazardous drinking started to affect his work efficiency, the money in his savings account, his health, his relationships, and his mental health. After many weeks of excessive drinking, Stanley, if truth be told, began to get concerned about his unhealthy and abusive drinking and questioned whether his alcohol related problems were alcoholism signs. Furthermore, his increasing bouts of depression also made him wonder whether he was becoming an alcohol addicted individual. In a word, Stanley clearly needed to learn more about the facts about alcohol abuse and alcoholism.
Stanley Needs Alcohol Detox and Alcohol Treatment For His Alcohol Dependency and Treatment For His Depression
So Stanley used his problem solving skills, called his healthcare practitioner, and made an appointment for a thorough physical examination. A week later after seeing his healthcare professional, Stanley unfortunately was told that he was an alcoholic. His healthcare professional told Stanley that he needed to get alcohol detoxification and alcohol rehabilitation for his alcohol dependency and that he also needed to get treatment for his depression. In a word, Stanley needed treatment for his alcoholism and depression.
Fortunately After His Treatment For Depression and For Alcoholism, He Felt Like a Different Person
His healthcare professional recommended to Stanley that he request a one-month leave of absence from work and get enrolled in a quality residential alcohol treatment facility where his depression could also be assessed and treated. This is precisely what Stanley did. The positive news is that after his treatment for depression and for alcohol dependency, he felt like a new person. In actual fact, now that he was sober he rarely got depressed and he now comprehended how to more productively and efficiently manage his relationships, his job, his finances, and his health.
To no one’s astonishment, the most difficult “test” Stanley encountered was at the office. More specifically, he still took potential vendors and his existing vendors to lunch and to various sporting events, but after his alcohol rehab he managed to stay away from drinking while entertaining his clients.
It may be noted that Stanley also found out that none of his existing vendors or potential vendors thought any less of him because of his non-alcoholic lifestyle. Alternatively, he discovered that his potential vendors and existing vendors respected him for staying strong to his convictions.
Stanley’s Better Finances, Health, Relationships, and the Better Work Performance He Experienced More Than Offset His Love of Drinking
After Stanley went through alcohol treatment, however, he learned that he was an individual who for whatever reason, couldn’t drink in moderation. In truth he found out the hard way that if he stayed away from drinking, all of the other significant parts of his life would be enhanced. At times, Stanley missed drinking, but the better work performance, health, finances, and the better dating relationships he experienced more than compensated for his love of drinking.
